Margaret Schacher

Margaret Schacher, 97, of Kimberley, passed away on April 17, 2026.

Margaret was born to Bertha and Thomas Marshall on March 5, 1929, in Semans Saskatchewan. The youngest of ten children, she was raised on the family farm with few luxuries, an upbringing that shaped her enduring resilience, kindness, and deep sense of gratitude, qualities she carried throughout her life.

In August 1950, she married the late Floyd (“Tag”) Schacher in Kimberley, where they built their life together. Margaret will be remembered for her dedicated service to both community and country through her involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion, the Senior Citizens Association, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She gave generously of her time over many years, always striving to make life better for those around her.

Family was at the heart of Margaret’s life. She took great pride in her loved ones and was a constant source of encouragement, nurturing each person’s unique gifts. Her patience, kindness, and generosity defined her and will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Don (Ellen), Jim (Sheri), and Patti (Bruce); her grandchildren: Greg Johnson, Joe Johnson, Brent Johnson, Isaac Schacher, Silka Schacher, Brett Lucas, Jared Schacher, and Mickey Fisher; and her great-grandchildren: Tag Johnson, Aurora Bennison, Piper Lucas, Emry Schacher, and Camryn Schacher. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Floyd, in 2000, and her eldest daughter, Connie Marczyk, in 2021.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
