Registration open for Fall Forest and Nature School Programs
Wildsight is inviting families and young explorers to reconnect with the outdoors this fall through its Forest and Nature School programs, where learning is intertwined with playing and discovering nature’s wonders.
Using a child-led, play-based approach, Forest and Nature School encourages curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a deep connection to the natural world. Programs take place outdoors in all seasons, giving children regular access to natural spaces where learning can emerge through exploration, storytelling, games, hands-on activities, and free play.
Programs unfold in Kimberley’s Lois Creek trail system and celebrate the natural wonders found in our own backyard, and is available to three age groups:
The Deer and Fawns program (0-5 years) invites parents and caregivers to participate, creating opportunities for shared outdoor experiences and connection.
The Wolf Cubs program (3-5 years) helps children build relationships with the land, each other, and themselves while developing social, emotional, and physical skills.
The Ravens Full Day program (5-12 years) is geared toward at-home learners or those who wish to combine Forest School programming with the traditional school environment. The emergent curriculum is guided by children’s curiosity and supported by instructors to develop a deep connection to nature. (*Ravens registration dates will open in August.)
“Children are innately curious about the natural world and love to explore and discover everything around us in the forest. We do a lot of exploring but we also spend time connecting through our senses, whether it be swinging in the hammock, digging in the dirt, or listening for birdsong,” shares Forest School Educator Kim Urbaniak.
“Our nature programs are making a tangible difference by building more resilient, less stressed kids with a greater capacity for critical thinking and problem solving. Parents are appreciative of their kids coming back more regulated and more focused.”
Fall 2026 registration is open. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
