How do we get more local food to local people?
Food connects our community in countless ways, from local farms and producers to neighbourhoods, families, and community organizations.
This September, Cranbrook’s Social Hackathon will bring people together around one shared challenge:
Food.
Instead of simply discussing ideas, you’ll spend the day working alongside others to create practical solutions that reflect Cranbrook’s unique strengths and opportunities.
Whether you’re involved in local food, run a business, volunteer in the community, or simply care about where you live, you’ll have the chance to contribute directly to ideas that could shape the future of our local food system.
Three other communities in the Kootenays will be doing the same in real time, each tackling the issue that matters most to them.
One day. Four communities. Hundreds of local ideas helping shape a stronger future for the Kootenays.
