Deep sewer system cleaning means lids down
The District of Invermere’s annual sanitary sewer cleaning program continues this week.
Using a high-pressure flushing process known as jet rodding, crews clean sewer mains to:
- Improve sewer flow;
- Reduce the risk of sewer backups into homes;
- Remove debris and buildup that can contribute to unpleasant odours.
As a precaution, residents are asked to keep toilet lids closed while cleaning is taking place in their neighbourhood. In rare cases, the high-pressure cleaning can cause minor splashing from toilets.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to maintain a reliable and efficient sewer system for our community.
