Mayor to receive Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal
District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher will receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contributions to the district.
Presentation of the award by Kootenay East MLA Hon. Bill Bennett, Minister of Community, Sport & Cultural Development, will take place on March 25, at the District of Elkford Council Chambers, 816 Michel Rd.
There will be a social gathering with refreshments at 5 p.m., followed at 6 p.m. by the regular council meeting, during which the medal presentation will take place. This event is open to the public.
