The beginning of a new calendar year brings with it an opportunity to start fresh, to learn something new.

Over the next months, the Fernie Heritage Library will be offering a variety of evening workshops on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m.

These programs are free of charge and are run on a drop-in basis.

Here is what is coming up in January.

January 16: Family Stories facilitated by Jodie Parker and Anie Hepher.

“The single most important thing you can do for your family may be the simplest of all: develop a strong family narrative.” – Marshall Duke, Psychologist. Unwrap this statement as you discover the stories in your family, and how they bear repeating in order to build strong connections and foundations in your home.

January 23: Gadgets and Communication:

How has technology changed the way we communicate? IPhones, tablets, Skype, Facetime, texting, instagram and beyond: Are we still getting the message? An evening of open dialogue facilitated by Kevin McIsaac-graphic recording by Michael Hepher.

January 30: Red Cedar Book Club (6:30-7:30 p.m.)

A monthly book club for children in Grades 4-6. New members always welcome.

January 30: Young Writer’s Event (6-7:30 p.m.)

Back by popular demand, Natalie Fischer is ready to get your creative juices flowing and in focus. For ages 13 plus.
