Obituary of Jordan Colter EARL

Jordan Colter EARL

November 3, 1977 ~ August 6, 2026 (age 48)

Although Jordan’s life ended far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created with us will continue to live on through his family and everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.

Jordan will always be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the strength, determination, and love he carried, even through the most difficult days. His absence will be felt deeply, but so will his presence: in the stories we tell, the memories we hold close, and the pieces of him that will forever remain within those he loved.

Jordan leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate, Sheri, and their four children, Brodie, Lily, Scarlett, and Rylie, who were his greatest pride and joy and an enduring part of the legacy he leaves behind. The love he had for his family was immeasurable, and the life and memories they shared together will forever remain a part of them.

Jordan is also survived by his father, Lorne; his sister, Lani (Lucien), and their children, Caleb, Remy, Maddi, and Dani; his brother, Gentry; his sister, Kelsey; and his mother-in-law, Pam. Jordan was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn, in 2024. He will be deeply missed by many extended family members, longtime friends, and associates throughout the community whose lives he touched over the years.

Jordan was born in Kamloops, BC, on November 3, 1977. As a baby, he was adopted by Marilyn and Lorne Earl, who brought him home to Fernie, BC, where he began a life filled with family, adventure, and many stories along the way.

Jordan was a builder in every sense of the word. Through his work, he left his mark on countless projects throughout the community. His immense determination carried through in through every aspect of his life. When things were difficult, Jordan kept going. When there was something to build, fix, accomplish, or overcome, he found a way forward, right up until he left us peacefully, surrounded by Sheri and his children.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Soetaert and all of the staff at the Leroux Clinic, the amazing doctors and nurses at Elk Valley Hospital, and the entire home health team for their care, compassion, and support.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to the charities listed.

There are no words that can truly capture how much Jordan will be missed. So instead, we leave everyone who loved him with his own words:

“Just keep moving forward.”

—Jordan Earl
