Four regional athletes off to Sochi

Four athletes who call the East Kootenay home are on their way to Sochi, Russia to participate in the XXII Olympic Winter Games, now underway.
Invermere’s Ben Thomsen and Manny Osborne-Paradise are competing in alpine skiing, while Cranbrook’s Rob Fagan (pictured above) is on the snowboard cross team.

And Kimberley’s Josh Dueck is competing in sit-skiing in the Sochi Paralympic Winter Games, beginning March 7.
B.C. athletes (41) make up 18.5% of all athletes (221) on the Canadian Olympic team.
The Invermere-based skiers can be seen live in the Downhill on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 12 a.m. to 2:10 a.m. and in the Super G on Saturday, Feb. 22 from midnight to 2:10 a.m.

Fagan can be seen live on Sunday, Feb. 16 from midnight to 12:30 a.m. and again Monday, Feb. 17 from 2:30 – 3:30 a.m.
