Inaugural city council meeting Dec. 5 at Royal Alexandra Hall
The City of Cranbrook’s new mayor and councilors-elect will officially be sworn in to office, at a special inaugural meeting on Monday December 5, beginning at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to attend. Incoming Mayor Wayne Stetski and councilors-elect Sharon Cross, Angus Davis, Denise Pallesen, Diana Scott, Gerry Warner and Bob Whetham will take their oath of office, in the Royal Alexandra Hall at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel (pictured above). The inauguration will be presided over by Chief Election Officer Leanne Jensen.
“I have broken a little with tradition and moved the inauguration to a location that allows us to be inclusive of the public for the evening,” says Mayor elect Wayne Stetski. “Inclusivity really is one of the hallmarks that council wants to be known for and I do hope that the public takes the time to come and visit with their 2011 – 2014 council representatives for Cranbrook.”
The public is also invited to remain following the meeting for a meet and greet with the new mayor and council. The inaugural council meeting will be rebroadcast on SHAW TV Channel 10 in Cranbrook on Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. and again on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
