Snow lovers may be a bit down right now as the East Kootenay and much of Canada and the northwest USA basks in one of the warmer Januarys in history, but whole new ways to appreciate the same old are being presented.

Invermere`s White Way may not be white, but it`s providing folks with a completely different view as they skate over the ice and get to view the lake bottom.

Ditto for Columbia Lake, where an afternoon was spent Dec. 29 skating, running the pee and vinegar out of pets and simply enjoying the wonder of a warm winter.
