OLD – Drive BC is continuing to report that Highway 3 is closed from Sparwood to the Alberta border/Crowsnest Pass.

The entire 21.4 km stretch from Sparwood to the Alberta Border is closed because of limited visibility with blowing snow. “No detour available. Please obey traffic control personnel. Estimated time of opening: Closed until further notice. Confidence level: low. Next update: 10 a.m. Assessment is ongoing,” Drive BC stated at 8 a.m.

Additionally, limited visibility with blowing snow is the current state of affairs on Highway 3 in both directions between Elko and Fernie (29.5 km), and the same conditions are in place from Fernie to Sparwood.
