JCI to host All Candidates Forum Oct. 29
Wednesday, October 29 meet the local candidates vying for your support at Cranbrook’s All Candidates Forum.
Proudly sponsored by JCI Kootenay, this event is an opportunity for all Cranbrook citizens to ask the questions important to them and hear from the potential leaders representing Cranbrook in the 2014-2018 term. The forum will start at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Key City Theatre.
In the last election, Cranbrook’s voter turnout was sadly only 33%. Event Co-Chair Jenny Byford explains, “JCI is striving to help curb voter apathy with the All Candidates Forum by making it easier for the public to get to know the candidates. It is exciting to see so many people interested in seeking office this year and JCI is proud to offer a neutral setting for Cranbrook residents to engage and discuss political issues.”
The All Candidates Forum will feature candidates seeking the positions of City of Cranbrook Councillors and Mayor.
Candidates will be asked a short set of structured questions followed by questions from the audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to anonymously submit their questions at the event.
JCI will ask as many questions as the time permits. College of the Rockies President and CEO David Walls will be the moderator for the event.
JCI is encouraging all Cranbrook residents to attend the forum and to bring their questions at 6 p.m. at the Key City Theatre, Wednesday, October 29.
