Obituary for Phyllis Pauline Stuckey

STUCKEY (STEPHEN)PHYLLIS PAULINE

SEPTEMBER 10, 1927 – DECEMBER 4, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, BC.

Phyllis Stephen (Stuckey) was born on September 10th in 1927 to Henry and Evelyn Stephen (Nashem).

Phyllis was the second of nine children: Howard, Don, John, Dorothy, Diane, Lorne, Betty and Donna. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Stuckey and children Darlene, Wayne, and Larry. Survived by her two sons Ron (Linda), Derek (Lois)

Phyllis was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren all of whom  adored her. She lived for tiny lives, always had a warm heart and a gentle touch.

Phyllis moved to Calgary in the mid-thirties and this is where she met the love of her life Stanley Stuckey. They met just before the War ended, Stanley was in the Air force which took them to many different places all over Canada.  They went on to have five beautiful children. After retiring from the Air force they moved to Calgary which then took them to Creston where they had a fruit orchard. From there life took them to running the local motel in Yahk. In their later years they moved into Cranbrook and lived there until Stan sadly passed away. Phyllis went on to live a very active life in the community and her faith was very strong, she was a faithful supporter of the church. She created wonderful bonds with so many people, one in particular was her dear friend Linda Webb.

Phyllis was a pillar of strength and love to her family. Her playful giggle will be missed by all. We will all cherish our memories and never let them fade. We now have an angel looking over us all.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, for all the care and kindness shown to Phyllis and her family during this very difficult time.

She was definitely loved! Special thanks to Dr. Ashley King and Dr. Caroline Shilhan for their continuous care of our beloved Mom, Grandma & GG.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date
