Charles “Charlie” MEARS

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Mears, who passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of eighty-five.

Charlie was born in Thorsby, Alberta, on June 21, 1940. Over the years, he built a long and steady career as a welder in mining systems, where his hard work, skill, and dedication were deeply valued.

Charlie was an avid golfer who had golf passes at Fernie and Jaffray golf clubs. He had a hole-in-one twelve times over the years!

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends, and especially by his son, Robert, with whom he worked and lived for many, many years. Their bond was one of companionship, loyalty, and shared days that will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Dad. I will miss you.
