Obituary of Linda DE GAGNE

Linda DE GAGNE

June 13, 1957 ~ June 28, 2026 (age 69)

It is with deep love and profound sadness that after a long and courageous battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Linda Dale De Gagne (Alexander) on June 28, 2026 at the age of 69 in Fernie B.C.

Linda lived by the motto “That every day is a new day”, and “One day at a time”. She led her life with grace, wisdom, kindness and love. Her huge heart accepted everyone who walked through her door with a cup of coffee, full conversation, and a hardy meal. She never discriminated against anyone, showing her kids that everyone can be family. Linda wore many hats as a devoted wife, amazing mom, Aunty, a cherished friend, and the best Grandma any child could be blessed with.

She had an abundance of talents, interests and hobbies which included crochet, sewing, gardening, crafting, and getting lost in a good book. Linda loved teaching her children life lessons such as cooking, baking, dancing, and to face life with grace, love and kindness.

Linda also enjoyed teaching as a courageous leader during her time as a volunteer at the New to You, Sunday school, and Girls Guides of Canada creating bonds with leaders, youth and inspiring them in their many endeavors. Many of them still reached out and showed her love, respect or to ask for advice.

Linda was born June 13 1957 in New Westminster B.C. She was predeceased by her parents Russell & Lettie Alexander, her brother William Alexander (Bill), daughter Amber-Lee DeGagne, Grandson Joshua Colley. Linda will be forever missed by her Husband Edward DeGagne, children Russell DeGagne/Ashley Vindevoghel, Cora-Lee/Jason Campbell, Laura-Lee DeGagne, Clinton/Ronnie DeGagne, Jenna-Lynn/Steven Colley, and Starla Mcleod. Grandchildren Kelsey, Jessica, Jeremy, Kyle, Cailey-Jo, Natasha, Dani, Iora-Rae, Ayleigha, Xavier, Nova, Anna, Ashelyn, Carbon, Sienna, great grandchildren Beaux, and Braxden. Along

with our extended family.

We as a family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Sparwood and Elk Valley Hospital. Every nurse and Dr that Linda received care from led with grace, wisdom, kindness and love allowing her to pass with grace, peace, and dignity.

At Linda’s request there will be no service at this time, and we will be planning a celebration of life at a later date. The family has decided in lieu of flowers that we would prefer that donations be made to the Elk Valley Hospice for the amazing care she received.
