Obituary of Linda Gail Lancaster
Linda Gail Lancaster
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Linda Gail Lancaster, on April 10, 2026, in Cranbrook, B.C. Born in Calgary on August 29, 1950, Linda was the eldest child of Samuel and Elsie Chisholm, and big sister to Jack and Steven. At age 15, she moved with her family to Cranbrook, the community she would call home. It was here, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on September 23, 1978, that she married the love of her life, Richard Lancaster. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their two children.
Though Mom enjoyed many things, her family and friends always came first. She was devoted to her faith and served as president of the Catholic Women’s League for many years. She was always busy planning funerals, meetings, and helping out wherever she could. She loved to dance, and in her slightly younger days, enjoyed heading out to Wardner to do some square dancing. Many meals were lovingly prepared, gardens tended, and projects knitted by her gentle hands. Everything she created reflected her signature warmth and generosity. She leaves a legacy of kindness that will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Mom’s legacy lives on through her husband of 47 years, Richard; her children, Christa (Jason) and Adam (Amber); and her grandchildren, Annika and Raiah. She will be affectionately remembered by many extended family members and lifelong friends.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cranbrook, with a private family interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
In memory of Mom’s lifelong dedication to her faith, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Catholic Women’s League of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cranbrook.
