Obituary of Marilyn Edith Williams
MARILYN EDITH WILLIAMS (PALMER)
OCTOBER 7, 1941 – DECEMBER 31, 2022
At the age of 81 and after a long battle with cancer, Marilyn passed away at the Cranbrook Hospital with her cousin Krystal by her side.
Marilyn will be remembered for the love of her pets, Swarovski, antiques. She was a voracious reader and loved a good mystery but more than anything, she loved long conversations with friends and family. She was kind, generous, strong, fiercely independent. Her nieces remember her as the ‘classy aunty’ who wore bright red lipstick.
She was raised in Waskada, MB, but her adult life took her on many adventures. Her work with CMHC brought her to Ottawa, Vancouver, Kelowna and finally to Cranbrook, BC, where he settled for close to 30 years. She kept close and cherished friends from each place.
She was predeceased by her parents, Emily and Percy Palmer, her twin brother William Palmer, her son Jason Williams, her partner Roy Frame and dear aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and pets.
Marilyn is survived by her last remaining kitty Kissa, cousin and supporter Krystal Oleson (Barry), nieces Ronda Palmer (Wayne), Tara Peron (John), Jonina Elliott (Michael), sister-in-law Martha Palmer and many great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
At Marilyn’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charities as follows: SPCA, Canadian Wildlife Federation, Leslie Long Rescue or Sammy’s Forgotten Felines.
