Robert Wilfred WILLIAMS

Bob passed away unexpectedly at his home in Baynes Lake, BC on September 9, 2023. He was born in Fernie, BC on December 8, 1955.

Bob worked at the sawmill in Elko, BC for 47 years as a welder and millwright, working his way to Maintenance Superintendent before retiring in 2021. He had many talents – he could repair, build, or figure out just about anything and he loved to learn. Bob could often be found working in his yard or shop, doing “something” (not always constructive). He always had time for friends & neighbours, helping in any way he could.

In the summer Bob would fish the Koocanusa for Kokanee, which he would smoke & can — one of his favorite snacks.

Bob loved to spend time with his family and had such a great love for all his grandchildren.

He is survived by his spouse Stephanie, sons Clayton (Leanna) and Kevin (Anora), stepson Shaun (Pam), grandchildren Mason, Lonnie, Amber, Ethan, Austin, Amia & Brooklyn, his mother Mae Williams, sisters Linda (Wayne) LaGroix and Cindy (Kerry) Corrigan and brother Ted (Heather) Williams as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his father, Wilf, brother Eric & nephew Mark LaGroix.

A Gathering to Remember Bob will be held Tuesday September 19th, 1:00 pm at the Baynes Lake Community Hall for family & friends.

In lieu of flowers / gifts, donations can be made to the donor’s choice.
