40th anniversary season an all Canadian affair

To celebrate its 40th year in the historic Studio/Stage Door, Cranbrook Community Theatre (CCT) will be presenting an all-Canadian line up for the 2014/15 theatre year.

The season will open in October with ā€˜Haloā€™ by Nova Scotia playwright Josh MacDonald, and directed by Terry Miller.

When an image of Jesus appears on the side of a Tim Hortons, the residents of the small fictional Nova Scotia town of Nately are faced with questions of faith, life, and love.

The second show is the premier of Cranbrook playwright Mary Hamiltonā€™s young adult play, ā€˜Siona MacDuff.ā€™

New director Carter Gulseth takes the helm of this show about friendship, peer pressure, and family.Ā Siona MacDuff will run in January 2015.

To wrap up the season, director Killeen Delorme will be presenting a yet to be determined Canadian play.Ā The final show will be in late winter/early spring.

ā€œAn all Canadian season is the perfect way to mark our 40th year in the Studio/Stage Door,ā€ said CCTā€™s Production Manager, Jennifer Inglis. ā€œThe plays this season have something for everyone and Iā€™m very excited to feature the work of Cranbrook playwright, Mary Hamilton.ā€
