Indie Films Fernie’s next presentation will be Chasing Ice, the 2012 Hot Docs People’s Choice Awards winner.

The American film also won Best Cinematography award at the Sundance Film Festival. This enlightening documentary, showing Feb. 4 at The Vogue Theatre, follows a National Geographic photojournalist as he brings dramatic visual evidence of climate change in the Arctic to the attention of the world. Featuring stunning cinematography and privileged views of some never-before-seen areas of the Arctic, Chasing Ice is the shocking, sobering yet ultimately optimistic story of James Balog’s incredible journey, an urgent reminder that our world is in crisis.
