Two adjudicated open regional exhibitions will be held in Kimberley’s Gallery at Centre 64 from Tuesday, August 2 to Saturday, August 27, as part of the seventh annual Arts on the Edge Festival of the Arts.

Artists may enter artworks in either the Established or Emerging artists’ exhibition.

Prizes will be awarded in both exhibitions in each of the 3 media fields listed below, details of which are described on the accompanying prize list.

1.  Painting, drawing, & print-making in any medium, including digital

2.  Other two-dimensional media (fibre-arts / photography, etc.)

4.  Three dimensional media (sculpture / ceramics / mask-making, etc.)

Artists may enter a total of three original artworks, appropriately framed or mounted for exhibition, in one or more of the above media fields. (Commercial ceramic moulds, giclée prints of paintings, etc. will not be accepted. Giclée prints of photographs and digital images only will be accepted.)

Artworks entered must not have been exhibited previously at Centre 64.

Exhibition criteria

For the established artists’ exhibition, artists should fulfill most of the following criteria:

Have gained the recognition of their peers as established artists;

Have exhibited fairly frequently in group and/or solo exhibitions;

Show a high degree of technical mastery and professional presentation in their work;

Have sold several/many pieces of their artwork.

For the emerging artists’ exhibition, artists should fulfill most of the following criteria:

Have been engaged in their art for less than five years;

Have rarely or never exhibited;

Are in the process of achieving technical mastery and professional presentation in their work;

Have sold few or no pieces of their artwork.

Established artists’ entry fees are as follows: $30 first artwork, $15 each second and third artworks.

Emerging artists’ entry fees are as follows: $25 first artwork, $10 each second and third artworks.
