Raise the Woof returns for third time

ICAN- USE THIS LOGO - Version 3The Invermere Community Hall will be a fun-filled place starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 21 when the Invermere Companion Animal Network (ICAN) hosts the ‘Raise the Woof: A Stand Up Comedy Show’ and Dinner for a third year.

Raise the Woof is a stand up comedy tour that helps give animals a voice through laughter while raising money and spreading awareness for animal rescues in Canada and the United States. Comedians Cory Mack, James Uloth and Alex Wood will be providing this year’s laughs.

ICAN RTW 2014 PosterThis major fundraiser for ICAN helps us continue the work of rescuing, sheltering, and finding homes for homeless companion animals in the Columbia Valley. Since our first rescue in 2007 we have assisted well over 1,000 animals.

Dave McGrath, Master of Ceremonies, will keep the evening rolling while you enjoy a delicious meal by Anne Riches Catering, place bids on silent auction items, play Scoop the Poop!, participate in a live auction conducted by Tex Lortscher and, of course, laugh the night away.

The last two years were sellouts so avoid the disappointment of missing out on this fun event by getting your tickets right away. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at ICAN, the Invermere Veterinary Hospital and River Gems in Invermere and Purple Cow Gift Shop in Fairmont. For further information call ICAN at 250-341-7888.

Heartfelt thanks to all the businesses and individuals who have donated items for this fundraiser and to the volunteers who contribute their time, expertise and energy to put this event together and keep ICAN operating year after year. We simply cannot do what we do for needy companion animals in our valley without you!
