An Unexpected Miracle
Cranbrook author, brain injury survivor and Paralympic hopeful launches her inspirational book
After surviving a terrible car accident at the age of seven, De Pippo, now 26, faced 18 harsh years of rehabilitation. She was in a coma, received brain surgery, and underwent extensive therapy.
Today, De Pippo can be found on most days in the swimming pool, training to enter the 2016 Paralympic Games. Despite the daily challenges that affect her balance and motor coordination, De Pippo is fired up and determined to make the Canadian Swimming Paralympic Team, and has her mind set on bringing home a medal.
De Pippo and Coles will be at two book signing/reading events in Cranbrook to launch the book:
– Coles Books (155-1500 Cranbrook Street North) on Saturday, April 5, 12-3 p.m.
– Cranbrook Public Library (20 17 Ave N) on Monday, April 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
