Key City Air Cadets give Joseph Creek some love

Going above and beyond the call of duty was what the 552 Key City Air Cadets were doing on Saturday, September 24, in support of the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-Up.

To show environmental stewardship and love of our town, we pitched in some time and effort to clean up a few sections of Joseph Creek.

There were some strange items found, including what used to be a bicycle and a terracotta “sun” ornament (that was still smiling at us). Along with the disgusting trash that we found in the creek, this year it was noted that there was a lot less of it compared to last years’ clean up.

It is proving to us that we are making a difference and that gives us a lot of pride in our clean-up efforts. Over all, it was a fun day of cleaning up the water, some laughs and a few wet feet, from a few who were willing to step down into the creek for the sake of removing garbage.
