Terry Fox Run Sept. 18 at COTR track
The annual Cranbrook Terry Fox Run is set to take place Sunday, Sept. 18 at the College of the Rockies (COTR) track.
Registration takes place from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., when Cranbrook’s Burlesque dancing troupe will lead a warm-up. The run proper begins at 10 a.m.
The Terry Fox Run is organized by volunteers so it is a fun run, with 85 cents from every dollar raised going directly to cancer research.
The run features two, five and 10 km lengths and because it is a fun run there is no official timing and you can choose your distance.
You can get a team of family, friends or co workers and do the walk/run together or you can take part alone.
The Cranbrook race organizers’ goals reflect that of Terry Fox’s – to raise $1 for every person in Canada, so Cranbrook seeks to raise $19,000 – one for every person in the city.
Organizers say wheelchair and strollers are welcome but no dogs please.
Pledge forms are available at: www.Terryfox.org or you can pick them up at Overhead Door and Windows at 244 Slater Road.
