This Earth Day, join Wildsight Invermere and imagine the valley you want to see in 50 years from now. Meet your neighbours, learn new skills and (most importantly) have some fun while embarking on this adventure with your community!
Embark on the Adventure! (What to Expect…)

Get the day started with hands-on action. Meet at the CV Centre at 9am to roll up your sleeves and help make our shared spaces cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. All supplies will be provided, please register & if you have a specific location within the Valley you want to clean up, let us know! - Mini Workshops
Get hands-on with practical tips for home energy savings from local experts, listen to the panel discussion on the future of energy in the Columbia Valley, join a workshop on waste reduction —small changes that make a big impact! - On-Site Repair Zone
Bring your tired gear and use a communal sewing machine or gain advice from local experts, have your broken electronics diagnosed with help from skilled fixers at Zen Electronics—because repair is better than replace! - Meet Local Environmental Superheroes
Connect with inspiring local organizations and changemakers doing incredible work to protect and sustain our Columbia Valley community. - Kids’ Activities

We’ll be celebrating and sharing the work of local superheroes who will be there in-person, offering a wide range of learning and action opportunities that will meet you where you’re at on your personal sustainability journey.

11:00am – Hone in on Reducing Home Emissions: Retrofits, Rebates & More!
12:00pm – Fix that Flat: Bike Repairs 101!
1:00pm – Waste Not Want Not: Save Money & Reduce Food Waste!
Your Adventure Checklist (What to Bring!)
Come prepared to tick a few items off your “to-fix” list at our on-site Repair Zone, for those things that you “just never get to…” or can’t find the right person to help with. No shame, we’ve all been there!
- Electronics: say goodbye to planned obsolescence! the wizards from Zen Electronics will be diagnosing your electronics and forging a possible pathway to repair…
- Textiles & Gear: been saving your favourite clothing piece in hopes that one day you’ll get around to repairing it? Valley sewing expert Janet Dahl-Freeman will be on-site with sewing machines on-hand to help you out!
- Bikes: not sure what’s going on with your brakes or derailleur? Doug from Bike It Forward will be offering simple bike repairs and even some giveaways to folks that need a bit of extra help!
*Swap & Drop* Spice Edition! Is your kitchen cabinet full of spices that you needed for one recipe but don’t know what else to do with? You’re not alone & one person’s trash is another person’s treasure! Drop them off to be re-homed in someone else’s kitchen & grab one that you use more often to take home!
The Unsung Heroes (Community Experts you’ll get the Chance to Meet)
Did you know Invermere is the first rural community in Canada with an 100% electric vehicle share? Or that we have a Library of Things where you can borrow items instead of buying-them new? Chat to local experts offering tangible take-homes as you embark on your sustainability journey. Get advice to repair your well-loved gear, test-drive an electric vehicle, or learn about “climate emotions” from a community mental health expert. These are just a couple of many ways our community is already future-proofing itself.
At the Earth Day Fair, you’ll learn about so many more…

The event will happen in the week leading up to Earth Day. Residents will leave feeling both empowered to make simple shifts in their own day-to-day lives, and aware of initiatives right here in our home town and connect in ways to participate in broader community sustainability initiatives.
Bring your friends, your family, and your passion for the planet.
Together, we can make a difference—one action at a time.
We ask you to please register for the community clean up component so we have enough supplies and if you have a preferred location around the valley to gather your troops, let us know!
