Peace Run stopping in Yahk, Fernie and Sparwood

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, the world’s longest and largest torch running relay (http://www.peacerun.org) is coming to Yahk Sunday, July 6 and to Fernie and Sparwood Monday, July 7.

YAHK – July 6, 11:30 a.m.

Kingsgate Community Hall, 8790 Railway. Presentation by International Peace Run team; Presentation of the Torch-bearer Award to Yahk resident Mr. Jeff Vandergeest; lunch with the seniors.

FERNIE – July 7, 12:30 p.m.

Team to run to Fernie City Hall; Greeting by Mayor Mary Giuliano and Councillor Dan McSkimming; Proclamation of Friendship; Fire Truck to accompany the team on a run through Fernie.

SPARWOOD – July 7, 2 p.m.

Team and local children to run to the Titan Park site; Presentation by the International Peace Run team; Summer camp children to join for a run part way to Coleman, Alberta.
