Notice Of Public Hearing Not Held – Zoning Bylaw Amendment No. 4246, 2026
Notice is being provided that at the Regular Council Meeting on June 8th, 2026, the City of Cranbrook Council is considering first, second and third reading of Zoning Bylaw Amendment No. 4246, 2026.
No public hearing will be held, as S.464(3) of the Local Government Act, prohibits local governments from holding a public hearing for zoning bylaw amendments that are consistent with the Official Community Plan, and proposed for development that is, in whole or in part, a residential development.
Zoning Bylaw Amendment No. 4246, 2026 Details:
The proposed site-specific amendment bylaw is to amend the text of the High-Density Multiple Family Residential Zone for the site legally described as LOT C DISTRICT LOT 4 KOOTENAY DISTRICT PLAN 12006, EXCEPT PART INCLUDED IN PLAN 13155 (PID: 012-664-821). The purpose of the text amendment is to increase the allowable density on the parcel from the existing maximum of 46 units to a proposed maximum density of 50 units. The text amendment will also permit a new accessory use for the site to facilitate Supportive Services within the proposed multi-family residential building. The property subject to the proposed Zoning Bylaw Amendment No. 4246, 2026, can be seen on Map 1 below.
The proposed bylaw may be inspected between the hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm at Cranbrook City Hall, from June 1, 2026 until June 8, 2026.
