Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, April 6 through April 12, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 56 calls for service. The following is a summary of some of the files our officers responded to.

Man arrested for being intoxicated in public place

On Monday, April 6 at 5 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated male on Subdivision Road in Windermere. Police attended the area and located an intoxicated adult male who was not able to stand or walk on his own. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and held in cells until sober.

Suspicious person reports in Radium

On Tuesday, April 7 at about 9 p.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a report of a suspicious male in a parking garage in the 4800 block of Stanley Street in Radium Hot

Springs. The male attempted to take a car seat out of a vehicle but was scared off by the owner of the vehicle. At 10:30 p.m. police received a complaint of a suspicious male with a similar description at a business on West Main Street in Radium Hot Springs. The male was described as Caucasian male, approximately 25-years-old, 5ā€™10ā€ with a slim build wearing a black hoodie and jeans. Police conducted extensive patrols but were not able to locate the male.

Cell phone found and turned in

On Thursday, April 9, a black Samsung cell phone was found in Windermere and turned into the Columbia Valley RCMP.

Found abandoned vehicle stolen Feb. 27 in Invermere

On Thursday, April 9, an abandoned vehicle was reported near Copper Road in Windermere. An officer attended and located a black Jeep Rubicon which was confirmed to be a stolen vehicle out of Invermere on February 27. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP or Crimestoppers.

No injuries in two-vehicle crash

On Thursday, April 9 at about 4:45 p.m., police responded to two vehicle collision on Highway 93/95 and Swansea Road in Windermere. The driver of a white GMC pickup was stopped on the highway waiting to make a left turn onto Swansea Road when the driver of a red Dodge pickup struck the truck from behind, driving it into the ditch. None of the occupants were injured. The driver of the Dodge pickup was issued a violation ticket for driving without consideration.

Intoxicated man arrested for mischief and held in cells

On Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated male throwing things around a residence on Kootenay # 3 Road in Windermere. Police officers attended and arrested the male for mischief and held him in cells until he was sober.
