Three-day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and vehicle impounded in Radium

On Thursday, August 25 at about 7:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop with a Nissan Pathfinder on Grainger Road in Radium Hot Springs. While speaking to the driver, the officer formed suspicion the driver had alcohol in his body and read a roadside breath demand. The driver complied with the demand and blew a “warn.” As a result, the driver was issued a three-day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for three days.

Minor injuries in two-vehicle crash near Radium

On Saturday, August 27 at about 11:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 93/95 near Radium Hot Springs. Witnesses reported a northbound Ford Edge struck a southbound Toyota Tacoma. Both vehicles were travelling at relatively slow speeds, as there was a heavy downpour at the time. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Edge was issued a violation ticket for failing to keep right.

Officer identifies bike thief through video footage

On Sunday, August 28, Columbia Valley RCMP was advised a green Norco bicycle had been stolen from outside a business in Invermere. The responding officer located the bike abandoned nearby and returned it to the rightful owner. After viewing surveillance video footage, the officer identified the suspect walking down Laurier Street. The suspect was arrested for theft and later released.

Minor damage to building and vehicle after crash in Invermere

On Sunday, August 28 at about 2 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single vehicle collision on 7th Avenue in Invermere. The driver of a Dodge Journey was parking and inadvertently collided with the building. No injuries were reported and there was minor damage to the building and vehicle.
