Fundraiser for family victimized by fire

The Columbia Valley community is rallying for a family that lost its Brisco home in an April 9 blaze.

The Snively family lost most of their worldly possessions in the fire and a group of valley residents have organized a fundraising event May 28 at Horsethief Pub and Eatery in Radium Hot Springs.

Organizers are still seeking donations and items for a silent auction, part of the 4 to 8 p.m. dinner event.

Bill Cropper will serve as evening emcee, while Smarty Pants and Friends will provide musical entertainment.

Event co-organizer Tess Bekkering invites anyone willing to volunteer to attend a Thursday evening meeting (6 p.m.) at La Cabina Ristorante in the Best Western Plus Prestige Inn Radium Hot Springs.

Anyone interested in donating is invited to contact Keirna Nittel at 250-347-6377 or at [email protected].
