Al Miller Invermere’s new Mayor

Two-term councillor Al Miller is now Mayor of the District of Invermere.

Miller captured 856 votes in today’s civic election, defeating challenger Mark Topliff who pulled down 186 votes.

Miller will be heading a council that includes form mayor Gerry Taft (611 votes) and former Village of Canal Flats Mayor Ute Juras, who captured 692 votes.

Kayja Becker received the most votes for council with 801, while incumbent Greg Anderson captured 636 votes for a third term.

Richard Unger had 493 votes and Shawn Ridsdale had 355.
