Healing Garden ground breaking July 31
The Columbia House Enhancement Society is holding an official ground breaking ceremony of the Columbia House Healing Garden on Wednesday July 31, at 3 p.m.
Over the last six months the Columbia House Enhancement Society has been working extensively to see the healing garden become reality. The healing garden will be a place of togetherness and healing that provides an outdoor environment for residents, families, staff, and the community.
When completed, the garden will include a large patio that is fully accessible for residents, a concrete walkway that meanders through the grass, a water feature, several sitting areas, and a labyrinth. Full plans including a concept video are available on our website at www.cohogarden.org
Through a solid partnership with Interior Health, grant writing, and a few major donors, the society reports it is happy to be moving forward with phase one of the project; the large patio with full resident access.
The groundbreaking ceremony, open to the public, will include live music, a few speeches and a blessing of the land.
Ceremony highlights: Live music; free refreshments, snacks and drinks; cake cutting; blessings; garden tours; official shovel digging. Speakers include Bill Bonner and John Newton.
