Invermere hosting Canada Day Parade
Invermere and area residents can help Canada celebrate its 159th birthday in style by taking part in and attending the annual Canada Day Parade July 1.
The Canada Day Parade starts at 11 a.m.
With that in mind, the District of Invermere is reminding folks to be mindful of road closures.
Road closures begin at 9 a.m. in downtown Invermere to accommodate parade staging and setup.
The parade will begin near Pothole Park on 5A Street, travel along 7th Avenue (Main Street), and finish at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena near 4th Ave.
Expect traffic delays and temporary road closures along the parade route. If you are attending, please park on side streets outside the parade route or in the old Community Hall parking lot.
Walking and biking to the festivities is encouraged and is often the easiest way to get around downtown on Canada Day!
No parking will be permitted along the parade route during closure times.
For everyone’s safety, please remain on sidewalks, supervise children closely and do not cross the parade route once the parade has begun.
The Canada Day Parade is presented by District of Invermere and RCL Windermere District #71 – Invermere.
