Another long-time summer tradition is being shelved this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kinsmen Club of Windermere Valley announced yesterday it is canceling this year’s Canada Day fireworks show.

“This has been a difficult decision to make but we have reluctantly come to the conclusion that due to current circumstances we will not be able to proceed with our annual Canada Day Fireworks show in the District of Invermere,” the Kinsmen Club stated on social media.

“It has been our pleasure to organize this annual event for our community and we share your disappointment at this cancellation. Rest assured we are already planning for next year!”
