Long-time Radium Fire Chief retires

Dave Dixon has been Village of Radium Hot Springs’ Fire Chief since before the community was incorporated.
And after 37 years as Fire Chief, Dixon Nov. 30 retired.
“During Dave’s tenure as chief, the department has grown exponentially. Training requirements have changed, new equipment has been purchased, New Year’s fireworks shows have grown, and we have introduced a first responder program to assist residents during medical emergencies,” the Village of Radium Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department noted on social media.
“Dave will still be an active member of the fire department. You will continue to see him responding to calls and participating in the various events we host (with pandemic restrictions still in place).
“Congratulations Dave and thank you for your exemplary service to the Village of Radium Hot Springs!”
Effective today, December 1, Trevor Carr has taken over as the Village of Radium Hot Springs’ next Fire Chief.
