Two killed in crash near Field
A crash between a semi-trailer and a SUV near Field Sept. 14 claimed the lives of two people.
On September 14, at about 6:15 p.m., the Golden-Field RCMP, BC Highway Patrol (BCHP), the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (CARS) and Emergency Services responded to the fourth fatal motor vehicle incident near Field in as many months.
Highway 1 was closed near Finn Creek, southwest of Field, from approximately 6:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. while police investigated.
A westbound semi and an eastbound SUV collided, killing both occupants of the SUV, while the semi driver was uninjured.
Golden-Field BCHP has taken conduct of the investigation with assistance from CARS and the BC Coroner’s Service.
Criminality has not yet been determined and police are still investigating.
