A heartfelt thank you

Letter to the Editor

The Kootenay ICE front office, players and hockey operations staff would like to say THANK YOU!

May 1, 2017 was our first day on the job and we are very proud of the progress we have made together in a very short amount of time. We have set out to provide an environment for our players, staff and our fans that is progressive, community focused and a pro environment. We have a lot of work ahead of us and are very excited to continue to move things forward on and off the ice.

On the ice, under the leadership of James Patrick, our young team is developing and will continue to be a source of pride for the community today and for years to come. Off the ice, we look forward to furthering our commitment to the community and continue the momentum from successful programs including, Reading with the ICE, Minor Hockey Team of The Game, Community Group of the Game, Classroom of the Game, etc. Our partnership with our fans and corporate partner relationships are very exciting. The passion, energy and commitment to OUR team is a driving force motivating our staff on a daily basis.

The Green Bay Committee has helped to reinvigorate and provide an opportunity for our youth to attend games. Close to 2,000 youth attended ICE games as a result of this innovative and unique program; truly representative of the spirit of our community. We look forward to working with the Green Bay Committee to continue building this program moving forward.

We would like to thank the ICE Alumni for the renewed energy and support that was kick started when Jarret Stoll dropped the puck on opening night and is now led by Colin Sinclair’s leadership.

We hope you will all attend the Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 16 hosted by our corporate partner St. Eugene to celebrate our Alumni and support the post- secondary education of our players.

Our Fan Club and our tremendous volunteers are second to none and we are so grateful for all of your contributions to our organization. Thank you for all that you do!

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our season seat holders.

We are working hard for you, we appreciate your feedback and commit to spending the time this off-season to look for ways to implement some of the great ideas we have received this year.

We simply cannot move forward and provide a program that you can all be proud of without your support. This is an important year as we make another push in our Drive to 25 and we look forward to your support and leadership during what we hope will be a successful renewal period.

We are very grateful for your support and look forward to a great rest of the year and continued progress in the 2018-2019 season.

Matt Cockell,
Owner, President and General Manager,

Greg Fettes,
