Bridge hosting ICE education fund BBQ

Are you looking for some free family fun on Saturday, May 12? There will be no better place to spend the afternoon than at the Kootenay ICE Drive to 25 Family BBQ in support of the ICE Education Fund presented by Bridge Interiors.

The event is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridge Interiors (located at 125A Slater Road in Cranbrook).

The event will feature smokies, burgers, chips and pop available by donation. The event will also include a bouncy castle, a chalk art contest, special silent auction items and tons of free giveaways.

In addition, the ICE plan to reveal some new retail items featuring the new commemorative 20th year in Cranbrook logo.

Shivers

Shivers, the ICE mascot, will be in attendance along with his buddy L’il Freeze, President and General Manager Matt Cockell and the rest of the ICE front office staff will be in attendance.

Those attending the BBQ will also have the chance to purchase ICE 2018-19 season seats on-site. This will be one of the final chances to take advantage of Early Bird season seat rates, which last until May 18.

All donated funds from the event will go towards the ICE Education Fund, which supports ICE players post-secondary education.

A banner of support for the Humboldt Broncos organization will also be on-site. This will be the last chance for ICE Country to write a message of support before it will be delivered to the Broncos organization.

A special thanks goes out to Bridge Interiors, the Kootenay ICE Fan Club, Mrs. Palmer’s Pantry, Rick’s Fine Meats & Sausage and Pepsi for supporting the event.

2018-19 Kootenay ICE season seats are available. Early Bird pricing – which includes massive savings and exclusive benefits – lasts until May 18. ICE season seats can be purchased at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place, by calling 250-417-0322 or online at kootenayICE.net.

The Kootenay ICE has set a goal of 2,500 season seat purchases for the 2018-19 season. As of Tuesday, April 23, 1,275 season seats have been purchased for next season, which is 51% of the target.
