Bud’s Bench closing in on funding goal
Bud’s Bench Project that will result in a functional artwork to acknowledge volunteers, past, present, and future, has received a contribution of $1,000 from the East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKC).
“We are honoured to commemorate Credit Union member, Bud Abbott. His exuberance for life, passion for community, and generosity of himself and his time, made Cranbrook better,” stated Jody Burk, CEO of EKC.
The bench will be created by local artist Paul Reimer and will be installed in front of the Studio Stage Door heritage building later this year.
The project’s organizing partners are: Regional District of East Kootenay, City of Cranbrook, Rotary Club of Cranbrook, Key City Theatre, Cranbrook Community Theatre Society, Cranbrook & District Arts Council, and the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce.
