Candidate hosts MPs in town hall gathering

Kootenay-Columbia Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate Rob Morrison, Banff—Airdrie MP Blake Richards and Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer hosted a town hall gathering at Cranbrook’s Heritage Inn on August 27.
MP Richards is the CPC’s shadow minister for Small Business, Export and Tourism, and MP Zimmer is co-chair of the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus.
Among the variety of topics covered, one of the main areas of focus was regarding the Bill C-71: An Act to Amend certain Acts and Regulations in relation to firearms. The bill’s aim is on restricted firearms and seeks to enhance background checks, install a mandatory registry, define new rules for the authorization of transport and to give the RCMP the ability to decide how specific firearms are classified.
