City forced to amend Five-Year Financial Plan
The City of Cranbrook announced this morning that unexpected events in the past year has forced it to amend Five-Year Financial Plan (2021 to 2025) Bylaw No. 4030, 2021.
“Bylaw No. 4030, 2021 was adopted on February 22, 2021. Throughout the year, several unexpected events happened as well as adjustments to carry forward projects, making it necessary to amend the Five-Year Financial Plan to reflect spending changes throughout 2021,” the city explained in a public consultation memo.
Prior to amendment of the financial plan, the city will undertake a process of public consultation.
The public is hereby invited to review the proposed amendments to the Five-Year Financial Plan (2021-2025) before it is adopted.
Written comments regarding the budget amendment will be received at City Hall until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021.
Bylaw amendment documents will be available online or for pick up at City Hall starting Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Subsection 165(2) of the Community Charter allows for amendments of the financial plan by bylaw and Section137(1)(b) directs that the power to amend or repeal must be exercised by bylaw.
