Home support initiative opportunity

Cranbrook has an opportunity to launch a home support initiative, for Cranbrook and area seniors, called Better at Home.

This program, managed by the United Way of the Lower Mainland and funded by the B.C. Ministry of Health, provides non-medical home support services to seniors to help them live longer in their homes, within their neighbourhoods.

These services would include such things as friendly visiting, transportation to appointments, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, snow shoveling and yard work.

Community developers are going out into the community to collect information from seniors and stakeholders as to what services currently exist in Cranbrook, and what services are needed.

All seniors or concerned community members are encouraged to please contact Pat Wray at 250-464-4889 or stop by the Cranbrook United Way office at 930 Baker Street for more information.
