ICE acquire draft picks for Philp

The Kootenay ICE yesterday parted ways with 19-year-old forward Noah Philp, sending the 6’2” centre to the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for two fifth round draft picks – one in 2018 and one in 2019.

“This was a trade that we thought was in the best interest of the player and our franchise moving forward,” said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager. “Noah has had a very good camp; we wish him the best of luck in Seattle.”

Philp played the previous two seasons with the ICE scoring 14 goals and collecting 41 points in 132 regular season games. He scored eight goals and added 11 assists in 65 WHL games last season.

Don’t miss the 2017-18 ICE Home Opener presented by Jason Wheeldon Personal Real Estate Corp. on September 22. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Ticket information will be announced early this week, visit ICEcountry.ca for details.
