Legacy Lookout zoning amendments approved

Following a public hearing Feb. 4, City of Cranbrook council unanimously approved two proposed zoning amendments for a 134 dwelling development project – Legacy Lookout within Wildstone.

The development proposes to build 72 multi-family dwellings and 62 single-family dwellings on the site.

Council learned the city’s Advisory Planning Commission reviewed the proposed amendments and recommended that council approve them. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) indicated that their interests are not affected by the proposed zoning amendment in Bylaw No. 3959.

Staff noted in the report that these amendments will not increase the density, or the number of units previously approved for this development.

The inclusion of underground parking for this development means more of the site can be devoted to green space rather than surface parking areas.
