Local Mountie Shayne Parker recently took home a silver medal at the World 100% Raw Powerlifting Competition on Calgary Alberta.

This past weekend Acting Sergeant Shayne Parker (pictured above) and his coach/daughter Aspen, travelled to Calgary where he competed in the Squat, Bench & Deadlift.  Shayne set a new National Deadlift Record of 523.6 lbs in his age category along with taking home the silver medal.

“The Cranbrook Detachment is proud of Shayne and his amazing accomplishment.  The time and dedication he pours into this sport shows the true nature of his character,” said S/Sgt Barry Graham.
