Prince George strikes back

We sensed a great disturbance in the force. That large city to the north launched a successful counterstrike to retrieve a star performer.

It is with sadness that the City of Cranbrook announces that Glen Mikkelsen, General Manager of Venues and Events, is returning to his roots and is heading back to work for the City of Prince George. His last day with the City of Cranbrook is Friday, June 11.

The city built a strong relationship and garnered important knowledge from Glen’s expertise in the few months he was with the organization. The City of Cranbrook looks to continue to foster that relationship and hopes to find ways to collaborate to help bring large acts to both communities.

“Glen is a leader in the entertainment and events industry and brought a ton of knowledge and expertise to the City of Cranbrook’s Recreation and Culture Department as General Manager Venues and Events,” said Stacy Paulsen, Director of Recreation and Culture.

“While only here for a short time, it was a true honour to work with Glen (pictured) as he is a great co-worker, but even more importantly Glen is a great person that I am extremely happy to have gotten to know and had the pleasure to work with. I wish nothing but the best for Glen in his future endeavours.”

Recruitment to fill this important vacancy for the City of Cranbrook will begin over the next several days.
