Red Spot Campaign a success

Alpine Toyota and JCI Kootenay report the month-long Red Spot Campaign, to help local schoolgirls be prepared with feminine hygiene products, was a huge success.

The campaign, which kicked off March 1 was done in collaboration with School District No. 5, included the collection of feminine hygiene products to distribute to local schools in need, and raise funds to purchase products.

“We are very excited to let you all know that the Red Spot Campaign was a huge success; we received around $2,500 worth of donations,” reported Red Spot Campaign chair Devon Twarowski, noting big thanks to “two huge donors; Alpine Toyota was supportive right from the beginning with a generous $1,000 sponsorship and Dr. Burwash from Baker Hill Dental also donated a generous $1,000.”

The rest of the donations came from the public in cash on a GoFundMe site or in product donation dropped off at our drop off locations (Save-on-Foods, Superstore, and Shoppers Drug Mart).

“We appreciate everyone who supported this campaign and made it a success,” Twarowski said.

Campaign volunteers will be dropping the gathered supplies off at the school district office tomorrow, Friday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
