Sam Steele Days ’18 to be a salute to sports

Sam Steele Days organization is underway and your local team has been working hard to get everything organized for the 2018 festival.

This year Sam Steele Days will be held from Thursday, June 14 to Sunday, June 17. Make sure to book that weekend off in your calendar and come enjoy all the planned events and festivities throughout Cranbrook.

This year’s theme has been announced as “Salute to Sports” and we would like to honour the many different sports in our area, including the Kootenay ICE, celebrating their 20th year in town, and the upcoming 55+ BC Games being co-hosted by Kimberley and Cranbrook this year.

We will be welcoming and encouraging our local sporting organizations to join us in the many activities throughout the weekend, as well as to join us on Sunday to showcase their organization/sports. Watch for your invite in the mail.

There will also be multiple special events throughout the weekend, which you will not want to miss.

Registration is now open online for all events hosted through Sam Steele.

This includes Bocce, Sam Steele Market, Parade, Taste of Sam Steele, and you can even register to be a sponsor of Sam Steele or a volunteer for part of the weekend. Please make sure to visit our website at www.samsteeledays.org to register your event or to register for an event. If you need more information or help with registering please be sure to email, [email protected].

We would also like to announce our new board of directors for the 2018 Sam Steele planning committee. There are some new volunteers in the crowd, as well as our new administrator, Pamela Berry, who has joined the team.

If you are interested in volunteering for this organization or throughout the weekend, please be sure to contact us on our website by registering or through email at [email protected]. Without our many reliable volunteers, Sam Steele Days would not be able to happen each year.

We look forward to hearing from you as well as seeing you at Sam Steele Days 2018 and make sure to watch our Facebook page or website for the many new events that will be coming to you that weekend.
