Stand in Solidarity and Pride Parade held in Cranbrook
Anti-hate was on display in Cranbrook Saturday, July 18, with residents turning out for the Stand in Solidarity at Rotary Park followed by a vehicular Pride Parade.
People gathered in downtown Cranbrook between 4-7 p.m. to support the ongoing anti-racism protests. The group provided masks, free cold drinks, and sunscreen while speakers shared their stories.
There was also informational videos and signs throughout the park, chants, a t-shirt/sign making station and a memorial.
At 7 p.m., sirens and honking could be heard on the streets of Cranbrook. The 2020 Drive for Pride Parade, with decorated cars participated in a drive-by parade this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
